"The Hunger Games". This best selling book has seemed to come out of nowhere, but now that is it here, it is here to stay. The Hunger Games is the first in the "Hunger Games" series and just like Harry Potter, Twilight, and Diary of A Wimpy Kid, it is being adapted into a movie.
The movie opens March 23 in the US and Canada and analysts are already predicting that this could possibly place as one of the best openings of the year, and somewhere in the top 3 for March.
There is no doubt the "Hunger Games" has attracted a fan base, including me, and is going to be huge, but just how huge? Unlike Twilight, Hunger Games can appeal more to guys, and the violent subject matter does justice, but then again the violence could turn off some.
Stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson could become the new Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, and they have been getting good early reactions from fans.
There is a lot of hype surrounding the Hunger Games. The books have received a lot of acclaim from readers and critics, so hopefully the movie will live up to the hype. The Hunger Games was also rated PG-13, and here is link for the trailers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FovFG3N_RSU
Can't wait! My 9 year old (avid reader with a post 12th grade lexile) has read the books, but not sure if she should see the movies. I hope you'll post age appropriateness after you see it!
ReplyDeleteI hoping to go to the midnight on the 23rd, I will post a review!
